History
In June of 2004, the Salt River Project (SRP) awarded Cactus Shadows High School another $3000 grant so the students could record the memories of veterans from World War II to the current conflict in Iraq. The Arizona Heritage Project (AHP) at Cactus Shadows High School preserved the stories of veterans on a DVD to be archived at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC and local libraries or museums will share them with the community in a traveling exhibit, a book, and a public presentation which took place at Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center on April 9, 2005 and in the spring of 2006 at the Terravita Golf and Country Club. The veterans and their families were our honored guests on both events.

To continue preserving the history and memories in our community, we plan to:
Create a third volume of our book, interview more veterans, continue to further preserve the history and memories of veterans in our community.

We cannot be successful without your support!
Through tax credit donations and other forms of volunteering and supporting AHP, we are able to succeed. Please contact us if you are interested in personally supporting the Project.

We have heard stories of success, stories of failure, and stories of mourning... nevertheless, we honor all our veterans.
